About GMT
Global Muslim Treasury (GMT) - Baitul Maal
Baitul Maal is a public treasury originally established at the inception of Islam, to manage and distribute wealth for the benefit and upliftment of society. Rooted in the noble practices of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, it serves as a central system for collecting Zakat, Sadaqah, Waqf and other charitable contributions to support the poor, needy, vulnerable and for the progress and upliftment of communities.
Guided by the Prophetic example, GMT is a non-profit company (NPC 2023/266991/08) which is committed to upholding principles of justice, transparency, and compassion — working to reduce poverty, promote dignity, and strengthen communities through sustainable development and collective responsibility.
Vision
GMT’s vision is to restore the golden age, including the Khulafa-e-Rashidun, by building a unified global treasury for the Ummah that transforms Islamic values into action — empowering communities, nurturing dignity, and uplifting the Ummah through sustainable and impactful initiatives.
GMT is established, in the path of the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammed ﷺ, as a self-reliant, self-sustaining, and enduring ecosystem that supports diverse global initiatives for the upliftment of the Ummah, exemplifies the practical beauty of Islam to all of mankind, and strives solely for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ and the implementation of His divine law.
